A flock of scrapie-infected sheep was started from USDA-quarantined flocks in the early 1990's. This flock was closed
to new additions in 1995, and the disease maintained by breeding and lambing the infected ewes annually until 2014.
Several government agencies, Universities and commercial companies have used this flock as a source of scrapie
materials for a large variety of research protocols. Scrapie positive and negative tissues are available for research
purposes. Contact the Caine Center at (208) 454-8657 for availability and cost.
